Are you looking for a career working with adults with learning disabilities?

As a support worker at Oaklands Leeming Bar, you will assist adults with learning disabilities to lead an independent lifestyle, while providing support to manage their day-to-day care needs; to develop impulse control; as well as to manage their behaviour and reactions to their emotional experiences.

Residents at Oaklands have complex needs and communicate in different ways so supporting them effectively is essential, giving a consistent responses and appropriate action when individual needs change, following a person centred approach to supporting the adults who live here.

Opened in 2016 Oaklands is a purpose built care home that provides care for up to eight people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder, and has a sensory garden with a swing, trampoline, water features, edible planting.

We are currently expanding our team and recruiting for Support Workers working full time day shifts this will include weekend working on a rota, no experience is required as full training will be provided along with additional support, you will need passion, dedication and commitment to caring for adults with a learning disability along with good communication skills and a friendly personality.
