Advert Details

The Avalon Group is looking for driven, enthusiastic people who want to make a positive difference to the lives of others and themselves. People like you!

We have a Part Time Waking Nights Support Worker vacancy available in Scarborough right now. This post is 20 hours a week, providing support to customers who may have complex needs. We will work with you from the very start to identify your individual career goals so that we can support you to become exactly who you want to be. You can expect to earn up to £9.27 per hour.

We will reward your commitment with free award winning training (which you are paid to attend), discounts at retailers including Apple; Sports Direct; Boots and Alton Towers, access to a wellbeing service which helps with personal matters such as finances; relationships and health, and we also allow you to be yourself by not asking you to wear a uniform.

What does the role involve?

As a Support Worker you will listen to our customers, what they want to do and what they want to achieve. We are not a residential care provider and we don’t offer 15 or 30 minute calls. Your approach will be specifically tailored to the person you are supporting, working towards their goals and aspirations. You will build a great relationship with the people you support, and will see the difference you make to their lives on a daily basis.

Why work for us?

We are an award winning charity and we are committed to all people who are part of our organisation. Alongside the benefits listed above we offer the opportunity to develop your career by gaining a Health and Social Care qualification along with progression opportunities within the group. We pay your travel expenses between consecutive sessions of support and we even cover the cost of your Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Certificate (which you need to be able to work in social care).

You will receive regular support and supervision sessions with your management team to ensure you are always happy and confident in delivering your role.

Who can apply?

Anybody! You don’t need experience, just the drive and compassion to help our customers to live great lives.

For more information please contact our Scarborough office on 01723 356540. Apply online at www.avalongroup.org.uk or call 0800 783 8549 for an application pack.

We strive to ensure equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from suitably skilled candidates regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality or religion.
