Make Care Matter – enable people to live the lives they deserve!

Reablement plays a major part in reshaping the future of care and support - helping people to live longer, healthier and more independent lives. It differs from the traditional residential care associated with care work. Supporting people to do things for themselves again, by maintaining and improving independence enabling more fulfilled lives in their own homes.

What is Reablement? Reablement centers on recovery, supporting people with personal goals to be achieved typically over a 6 week period. Using a therapy plan as your guide, you will work with service users to develop their skills and confidence to achieve daily independent living. There may be an element of personal care however this is just a small part of the role. Your focus will be to enable each individual to achieve their goals and regain their independence. Working with other colleagues such as Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, you will contribute to person centered support plans and ongoing progress reviews.

This is an extremely rewarding role where you can realise the impact of the great work you do on a daily basis - you could be part of our team and share these great experiences with the people you support.

Working Arrangements - we offer flexibility around shift patterns and hours of work, with an expectation of some flexibility from staff in return. Shift patterns include a range of early shifts (approx. 7am - 2pm), late shifts (approx. 4pm - 10pm) and weekend working (usually every other) on a rota basis. You may be looking for evening and weekend work or even just weekends – have a chat with us about what we can accommodate and how this could work for you. In between visits, we have establishments available locally where you can take comfort breaks and carry out other tasks such as training, correspondence, progress reports etc., as well as accessing support as required from managers and colleagues.

Training and Development - we provide high quality training, support and development - the training and qualifications you complete with us are fully paid for and there is no cost to you. We support staff development and up skill existing staff by offering higher level qualifications as part of our succession plan for the future. As a minimum, we provide the Level 2 Health and Social Care or the QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care via our apprenticeship training route, with potential to complete the Level 3 as required. The Care Certificate, completed as part of your training is transferable, with modules including nutrition and food safety, understanding mental health, dementia, learning disabilities and safeguarding.

Here are some of the great benefits we offer:
• Pay includes the time spent travelling between clients, not just time spent with clients
• DBS clearance paid for by us and uniforms provided where required
• Pay based on experience and qualifications plus incremental pay progression
• Enhancements for weekend working, typically 5%
• Generous mileage allowance 0.42p per mile paid for any travel incurred as part of the role,
• Generous holiday entitlement starting at 23 days per year, increasing by length of service
• Discount platforms from high street and local retailers, child care vouchers, care schemes, home technology schemes, leisure membership
• Access to health and well-being advice and support for you and your family
• Access to a secure and flexible employee pension scheme To help you with the costs of driving, we offer benefits including:
• Discounted car insurance and MOT/ service and breakdown cover for cars
• Low cost loan for car purchase through the financial wellbeing scheme
• Provision of a lease car for eligible care staff working in the community
