We are a family business, placing family values at the heart of everything we do. We believe this is reflected not only in the care we provide but the caring environment created at The Millings. Real friendships and strong relationships between our residents, with our staff and amongst extended family and friends characterises the home.

As a care assistant you will share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents / clients in a way that respects the privacy and dignity of the individual, and provides independence. Contribute to providing a happy and caring atmosphere, and be involved in the day to day activities of the home. To work as a member of a team, and communicate with and show respect for other team members, remembering always that everyone involved in the functioning of the home is working towards a common goal. This being the welfare and well-being of the residents. To assist residents / clients who need help with activities of daily living which include: getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing, going to bed and the toilet. To help with promotion of mental and physical activity of residents / clients through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.

Every resident has an experienced and professional Care Partner who is responsible for the healthcare and happiness of their residents. Each month the residents' wants and wishes are built into the Careplan and actions taken to make these a reality. Families are encouraged to be involved in the care planning too, either at the monthly meeting or during specific relative's meetings. A residents' happiness is a gauge for success. It means that they are not only receiving good healthcare but their social and emotional well-being is being taken care of too.

In 2018 we were awarded top 20 care home by Carehome.co.uk. This award highlights the most recommended Care Homes in each region of the UK. The Awards are based on Recommendations received from Residents and Family / Friends of Residents during 2017.
