We are recruiting for a team leader/ senior carer who will deputise in the absence of the manager. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to progress your career in care, as part of The Riccall Care Group we benefit from their excellent in-house training, ongoing support and training will be provided to the successful candidate along with career progression.

As a team leader / senior carer you main responsibilities will be, to support the person in charge in all aspects of the management of the home. To take complete charge during the absence of the manager. To help train new members of staff in all aspects of their work in the home.

To be “On call” when requested.

Duties will include but not limited to ensuring that all care and domestic staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home, to assist clients who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet, o help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of clients through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading writing hobbies and recreations. To maintain proper and accurate records regarding the clients and other home information, read and write reports in case notes, take part in staff and client meetings and also in training activities as required and foster good working relationships.

At Abbey Lea Care Home we offer person centred care respecting residents privacy, dignity and independence at all times, consulting residents individually with regard to what interests them and how they want to live, the choice is always theirs, including spending time resting in their rooms if they wish. We actively encourage residents to maintain all forms of social contact that they enjoyed before moving in with us and we will help maintain any special interests as much as we possibly can.

There is a lovely atmosphere and your kindness and patience are always apparent and appropriate.'
