Holly- Registered Care Manager

When Holly left school at 18 her first priority was going out with friends at the weekend. To pay for her fun filled lifestyle Holly applied for a job in a care home, a very different path from her peers heading off to university.

Holly still has a busy social life and makes the most of her time away from work, but ten years on she’s now a registered manager in an adult care facility. By earning and learning at the same time Holly avoided the student debt most people under 30 are still paying off and was able to buy her own house last year.

In the latest film in the Make Care Matter series Holly talks about her career and why she would encourage more young people to think about going into care roles.

“If you want to progress there are so many opportunities open to you. For anyone considering a role in adult social care I’d say give it a chance. I can honestly say that I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world!”
