Care and Support Worker – Waking Nights

Do you have a passion to enable people to live a quality and fulfilling life by providing the Right Support, Right Care, and Right Culture?

Harrogate Home Support is a Supporting Living service based near Bogs Lane in Starbeck. At Harrogate Home Support we have some exciting opportunities to become a part of our friendly team of Waking night staff. The waking night shift is from 10:00pm to 8:00 am.

As part of the waking night, you will be required to support individuals with personal care including washing, dressing administering medication and maintaining house checks. We believe that everyone has the right to an independent and fulfilling life and our supported living service will enable people and their families to build skills, develop confidence, help each other and look forward to a positive future.

We are looking for compassionate and hardworking individuals who have a commitment to making a difference and making care matter. As a care and support worker, dignity, respect and kindness are paramount- supporting people to make personal choices that will enrich their lives. Working in the care sector isn’t just about assisting with everyday tasks, it’s about person centred care- promoting an individual’s independence, enabling them to live life to the fullest.

We support people with a wide range of needs including neurodiversity, autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs. Supporting people with personal care is an integral part of the role, including use of equipment in a person-centred approach, for which training will be provided.

Our service is open 24/7, you will need to be flexible as shifts will include weekend working. You will be confident to work independently – as there will be a requirement for lone working.

If you are someone who embraces the opportunity to work in a role which is as diverse as the people you meet, we would love to hear from you and welcome you to our team!

You will work in ways which are consistent with the NYC values and behaviours, which are:

•            Inclusive

•            Ambitious

•            Creative

•            Together

We want someone who is committed to promoting quality care and support with dignity and respect. Are these values important to you? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Have you got a recognised qualification in Health and Social Care? If not, don’t worry we would you like to support you to learn on the job?

At NYC we offer a range of benefits including:

•            Full support to achieve level 2 in Health & Social Care

•            Extensive training and learning

•            Opportunities for progression into other roles

•            Potential to explore other specialisms such as learning disabilities and mental health.

•            Paid enhancements for any weekend or night working

•            Fully paid DBS clearance

•            Pay based on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity for progression.

•            Generous mileage allowance for any travel incurred as part of the role.

•            Generous holiday entitlement, increasing by length of service.

•            Discount platforms from high street and local retailers, childcare vouchers, home technology schemes, leisure membership

•            Access to a secure and flexible employee pension scheme
