Make Care Matter Team at the UK Darlington Careers Fair: Highlights and Insights
On 8th August, the Make Care Matter team had the pleasure of attending the UK Darlington Careers Fair, a key event for connecting with potential candidates and showcasing our partners in the local area. As part of our ongoing endeavours, Kate from Make Care Matter Recruitment Hub in North Yorkshire visited the fair to support our partners at Heritage Healthcare in their recruitment drive.
At the fair, we had the opportunity to meet the fantastic team from Heritage Healthcare: Joel, the Marketing Assistant, Lisa, the Registered Care Manager overseeing the quality and management of care services; and Carol, one of the Care Coordinators ensuring smooth operations and effective coordination of care activities.
At the UK Darlington Careers Fair, we were specifically looking to promote the domiciliary care sector and to encourage new applications by attracting candidates for the various domiciliary care vacancies available in the Darlington and Richmondshire areas.
During the fair, we highlighted several key roles that were of particular interest: we emphasised the need for reliable and dedicated drivers, who are essential for providing transportation for care staff and clients, and we discussed a range of care positions within Heritage Healthcare, showcasing the rewarding aspects of working in domiciliary care.
We were specifically looking to connect with candidates, who have a valid driver’s licence, as finding individuals with this qualification was a top priority due to the importance of transportation in domiciliary care.
Additionally, we sought candidates who are genuinely passionate about providing high-quality care and making a positive impact on others’ lives.
As we move forward, we are excited about the promising candidates we met and the opportunities for collaboration with Heritage Healthcare. Our involvement in such events is crucial for building a strong, local workforce and continuing our mission to connect dedicated individuals with meaningful career opportunities.
Kate from the Make Care Matter team said, "A highlight of the day was seeing the positive response to Heritage Healthcare’s branding and the enthusiastic interest from candidates in the care sector. This reaffirmed our belief in the importance of community-focused recruitment and the value of participating in local events.
A big thank you to Joel, Lisa, and Carol from Heritage Healthcare for their hard work at the fair. We are also grateful to everyone who visited our stand and showed interest in joining the care sector.
Looking ahead, we are enthusiastic about welcoming new talent and remain committed to supporting local recruitment efforts in the Darlington and Richmondshire areas.
