The Make Care Matter team recently had the pleasure of attending the Scarborough Job Fair, a vibrant and well-attended event designed to connect jobseekers with a wide range of local employment opportunities. Held in the heart of Scarborough, the fair attracted individuals from all walks of life. whether they were looking for their first job, a career change, or an apprenticeship opportunity.
As part of our ongoing mission to raise awareness of the rewarding careers available in adult social care, we were excited to meet so many enthusiastic attendees. We spoke to jobseekers about what it’s really like to work in care, challenging at times, but above all, meaningful and incredibly fulfilling. We shared insights into the variety of roles on offer, from care assistants to support workers, and explained the clear pathways for training, development, and progression.
It was fantastic to see such genuine interest in making a difference in people's lives. Many visitors to our stand were surprised at the flexibility, job security, and sense of purpose that a care career can offer.
Events like this are a great reminder that local job fairs aren't just about handing out CVs, they’re about building connections, inspiring futures, and showing people just how much they matter in a role that truly makes a difference.
We’re always on the lookout for passionate, caring individuals to join the sector. If you couldn’t make it to the job fair but are curious about working in care, Visit our jobs page Adult social care jobs > Make Care Matter
